Growing Pen is an eco - friendly product of iLAB - Innovation Laboratory, which is beautifully crafted, innovatively designed with craft /magazine paper, embedded with a growing seed, and marketed by the mothers and homemakers of Payyanakal, Kozhikode, Kerala coastal community. The project was initiated for empowering the coastal women community as a source of income and investing in the educational activities of iLAB, thereby raising the Payyanakal coastal community.

iLAB is a volunteer-driven non-profit organization aiming to empower unprivileged students and women in coastal communities of Kerala by establishing learning centers and providing opportunities for youth to become the drivers of next-level innovation.

We have been conducting various educational projects in support of Kozhikode Municipal Corporation and SSA (Sarva Siksha Abhiyan) for the last four years.

Our programs focus on students to make them capable to discover endless opportunities around them by helping them advance their knowledge, teach them skills, hygiene, welcome them to the world of ideas and mold them into a responsible citizen.

We have been holding closer the children and parents of Fishermen community who has been facing a digital divide in education and financial loss in this pandemic , by establishing 11 learning hubs with Television and providing a source of income through our growing pens.

Yet, there are still many children who are left out from the digital education!
