Help us continue to spread sunshine in the lives of children with special needs!

Arushi, literally means the first ray of the rising sun. True to its name Arushi – The Learning Centre (Department of Special Education SNDT Women’s University) has been spreading sunshine in the lives of children with special needs for the past 30 years by providing them with a holistic environment for their development. At Arushi we mainly cater to children ranging between 5 years to 18 years, with Intellectual Disabilities (ID), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Learning Disability (LD), Non Verbal Learning Disability (NVLD), Slow Learning Capabilities (SL), Attention Deficit/ Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and Cerebral Palsy (CP). We have a team of 5 teachers and 3 support staff who currently cater to 18 students. In order to maintain and continue our efforts to provide quality education to our students, during this unprecedented pandemic, we have been engaging them through regular online classes and wish to offer them our best. We need your support to meet this goal and therefore invite you to participate in this noble endeavour through personal contributions .

I had seen the Independence Day act put out by the students and was greatly impressed. One of your teachers, Seema is related to me. I pledge to donate and also raise awareness about your noble and impressive activities. Lots of good luck for the future of Arushi.
